China Town in Sable Square
A new China Town has opened at Sable Square in Milnerton, next to Century City.
Sable Square was established some years back as a big box retailer, aiming to provide branded goods at much reduced prices. However, the concept did not really take off and the centre has not performed to its full potential.
The successful China Town in Ottery was established by a group of Cape Town businessmen who have identified a need for a similar centre to service the city and northern areas of Cape Town. They believe Sable Square is in the right location, with plenty of parking and the potential to accommodate this kind of opportunity. Together with the centre owners, Redefine Properties, they have taken 6 000m2 of trading space and converted it into 50 about shops.
The centre will be open to the general public as well as hawkers, traders and flea market traders.
The Trustees of the China Town Trust believe the new space will prove popular with shoppers, who will enjoy the added convenience of being able to shop at Pick n Pay and Clicks or eat at the Spur in Sable Square.

I must agree to SPEED POINT machines – having so much on offer to purchase, safety in walking around with (very likely……)large sums of money somewhat dampens the experience!
