Co-working office spaces for attorneys recently launched

“Hot desking” or co-working spaces in large office blocks have become a global trend that is catching on in South Africa, and a co-working initiative by the Attorney Realtor Hub has already garnered a large take-up and support in the legal fraternity.

“The Attorney Realtor Hub was an obvious national platform to use. Already 28 firms of attorneys who form part of the hub are participating in this initiative,” says Meyer de Waal of MDW INC in Cape Town, one of the founding members of the Attorney Realtor Hub.

“The Attorney Realtor Hub has a large footprint in South Africa, with participating attorneys in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KZN and the Western Cape. This co-working service is not limited to Attorney Realtor Hub Members – any attorneys can make use of this it and also add their offices and services to the co-working pool.

Attorneys are mobile nowadays, says de Waal, who is based in Cape Town but often travels to Gauteng or KZN for meetings.

“I don’t want to meet clients in a fast food outlet. It is much more professional and convenient to meet at the offices of a fellow attorney firm and make use of their boardroom facilities as well as internet, wifi, and if required, secretarial services.”

Eugene Gouws of attorneys Hill McHardy Herbst in Bloemfontein, says:

“We usually have an open desk or boardroom available in our office and we welcome fellow attorneys to come and use our facilities. We are able to meet the requirements of attorneys travelling from the platteland or other cities who visit Bloemfontein to have a meeting space and back-up to continue working in a professional working environment.”

Attorneys who want to make use of these services can book a co-working desk or a boardroom or meeting facility at any of the participating attorneys of the Attorney Realtor Hub through the following web link – click here for the names of the participating ARH firms.
