We don’t sell anything, or take commission – we just share what we’ve learned and introduce you to the suppliers for a very small fee. It is about networking and our looking out for our kids’ kids.
There is no much down trend seen in the market.It is marginally between 4-5% of decrease is seen.

Chameleon Coatings did all the paintwork for this new project. A huge concern was to use ‘green rated’ paint, to fit in with the theme of a green rated hotel. All paints used in the painting phase was checked for the lowest acceptable VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), to help with the vision that Mark Bleloch had. You get paint materials now with very low VOC. It is a growing concern to include these factors into new contruction and renovations. In the near future this it will become a standard to use low VOCs and is already a consideration.
The project was run successfully and raised eyebrows at the mention of the first successful environmentally friendly hotel.
I witnessed the research that went into the planning of the construction, and with the knowledge that Mark introduced and project managed, this project was a great learning curve for myself, and made me look at the environment with a whole new light.
The technology that is being used is amazing. Mark demonstrated the usage of electricity to me, and was able to give me the real-time electricity usage on his iPhone, which connected to the server and showed stats and graphs of exactly how the energy was being used, even per room. I was amazed to see just how many energy efficient products are out there, and using all the products and materials together is almost a science on its own.
Was an amazing project to be involved with.
Just really admire the pool on the balcony.. whoever thought of it is a genius!!
Where can one obtain a list of all criteria to consider when building a new ‘green’ home?
Rob, while it may be a good principle to always hire a professional, some people simply cannot afford their exorbitant rates and would therefore prefer to DIY. 99% of the renovations in my unit I did myself because the “professionals” made such a mess I had to fire them!
Nice to see that they aren’t over developing the whole province. Slowly as areas are totally stripped of any natural resources areas like this will be lost. Through careful development we might just be able to save what has for so long been taken for granted.
Wonderful development so close to Maritsburg, especially with the Oribi relocation program. Nice to see developer’s putting something back for a change.
