Grand Moorings precinct in Century City nearing completion

Manhattan Corner, bordered by Century Way and Esplanade Road in Century City, will consist of two buildings with residential apartments and sectional title offices.

A new mixed use development is being built on the last remaining site in the Grand Moorings precinct of Century City by Rabie Property Group.

Bordered by Century Way and Esplanade Road, Manhattan Corner will comprise a mix of residential apartments and sectional title offices in two buildings of varying heights providing a staggered skyline.

The seven sectional title offices on the ground floor facing onto Century Way will range in size from 50m2  to 100m2. The 28 one, two and three bedroom apartments will be built above the offices, and all will have basement parking.

Rabie project manager, Greg Jenkins, says the architects, Munnik Visser, are ensuring that the new development will complement the existing buildings in the precinct while still having its own identity.

“Both components of the R60 million development have been acquired by an investment company for rental stock,” says Jenkins.

“We expect strong demand from tenants as all other residential and commercial developments in the precinct are fully let.”

Manhattan Corner will complete the entire block which also includes the 63 apartment Manhattan Quarter development, the Manhattan Suites and Conferencing high rise building, new studio offices for Bam Architects, the Endeavour Too crèche, Manhattan Park and two popular restaurants, Bootlegger and Time Square Café & Takeout.

Big Ben is the appointed contractor and the development is expected to be completed by mid-2018.
