Helderberg Manor Retirement Village in Somerset West, a collection of houses, garden apartments and assisted living suites, has launched a new block of apartments, which will be the last development on the estate.

The new block will consist of eight two-bedroom apartments with one bathroom priced at R1.595 million. The block will be completed by mid-2019, according to the Devmark Property Group, the developer.

Helderberg Manor Retirement Village is in Heritage Park, a 200 ha private estate with its own houses, schools, shops, places of worship, parks and waterways at the foot of the Helderberg.

Helderberg Manor is close to Vergelegen Medi-Clinic, Somerset Mall, the Helderberg Nature Reserve with its walking trails, a variety of golf courses, the Indian Ocean, and the various wine routes including the Lourensford and Vergelegen Wine Estates.

Hein Ehlers, Devmark founder and chief executive, says all the amenities at Helderberg Manor have been completed including the clubhouse, library, assisted living suites and 24-hour medical care.

“Helderberg Manor residents are active and social and our garden and house cleaning services give them the opportunity to lead a lock-up and go lifestyle.

“The fact that most facilities have been completed makes these apartments very attractive to prospective buyers. They can just move in and have all the required amenities on their doorstep, an established community and no more construction.”
