The August launch of The Docklands, an apartment block in Prestwich Street in De Waterkant, Cape Town comes at just the right time, according to Jayson Sprawson, who will be marketing the new development as part of Tyson Properties Cape Town.

“There is a variety of apartments in a number of Cape Town CBD and Foreshore developments under construction or about to be launched. However, there is very little stock available in the trendy and cosmopolitan De Waterkant neighbourhood,” he says.

Construction started late last year on the apartment block designed by FWJK Developments’ architectural division.

FWJK chief executive, Dave Williams-Jones, says The Docklands consists of one and two bedroom apartments as well as two 144m² penthouses and offers residents the must-haves for modern daily living. These include high speed fibre optic internet, secure undercover parking and 24/7 manned security with access control and a white glove concierge.

“The development is one of FWJK’s projects under construction in Cape Town totalling R1.8 billion,” says Williams-Jones.

Features of The Docklands include a roof top pool deck and entertainment area with views of Cape Town, the mountains and the sea, and a Vida E café on the ground floor.

Sprawson says De Waterkant is close to some of the city’s top restaurants, as well as the nightlife and sporting venues. Nearby shopping centres include the Foundry, Cape Quarter and the V&A Waterfront.

Sprawson says The Docklands apartments are ideal for those who want to live alongside the city beat and those looking for lock-up-and-go units.

Apartments are priced from R2.85 million for one bedroom units to R9.4m for a penthouse.

The development is scheduled for completion in August 2018.
