Property forum coming up

The fifth Western Cape Property Development Forum will be held on May 10 and 11, at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town.

This year’s theme is growing Africa’s premier destination through property development.

WCPDF remains resolute in its aim to improve the environment for property developers in the Western Cape, says WCPDF chairman Deon van Zyl.

“This year we bring together some of the brightest minds and most influential people in the private and the public sectors to discuss the opportunities, challenges and frustrations facing property developers in the Western Cape.

“Apart from listening to our speakers we provide a forum for delegates to participate in the panel discussions and express their own views and air their ideas on what needs to be done to improve the environment for developers.”

Speakers this year include:

Minister of Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde, talking about plans to create growth in times of change.

Journalist and television host, Max du Preez and political analyst and ANC strategist, Aubrey Matshiqi discussing politics in South Africa.

Prof Francois Viruly talking about transit orientated development and the 24 hour city.

Wesgro chief executive Tim Harris chairing a panel discussion on investment in Cape Town.

Economist, investment strategist and writer Prof Brian Kantor talking about how the city can encourage growth.

As in the past, the WCDF will apply for continuing professional development (CPD) points to the Cape Institute of Architects, the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors and the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Profession.
