Atlantic seaboard property professionals Berman Bros. Group (BBG) are developing the five-storey Strand Beach apartments in High Level Road, Sea Point.

“Work has started on this comprehensive makeover and the first apartments are now available,” says Paul Berman.

“The building occupying the site is a perfect example of where the design philosophy favoured function over form. The façade of is being carefully demolished as it had little to no aesthetic or heritage value and, critically for this part of Cape Town, its aspect takes poor advantage of the spectacular views of Lions Head and the Atlantic below.

“As responsible property developers, we have ensured that all legalities are in place in terms of public notices and gazettes before we started with this development.”

Berman says the design opens up each apartment to natural light and sweeping views over the Atlantic, while elegant, contemporary finishes add the finishing touches.

“InHouse Brand Architects, working with MLB, have been mandated to create a modern, classic, and sophisticated look with timeless appeal that will transform the building from being merely an outdated apartment block to becoming attractive homes in a modern setting.

“This neighbourhood has achieved some of the highest property value growth rates in South Africa. We recognised the potential of this property a while ago, in an elevated position on the slopes of Signal Hill with spectacular sea views and wind protection. Its position in the middle of the Atlantic seaboard enables easy access to the City and Cape Town’s most popular beaches and attractions on the coastline.”

Once complete, Strand Beach Sea Point will have 34 one, two and three bedroom apartments. Ground floor apartments will have private gardens and pools, and a communal entertainment deck and pool area will be for the benefit of all residents and guests.
