Jawitz Properties recently launched its first Mauritian franchise, to be run by Mauritian businessman Dev Dhaliah and his son, Reetesh Dhaliah, from the head-office in Port Louis.
By extending its footprint to Mauritius, Jawitz Properties has demonstrated its confidence in the island’s property market. The focus will be on the sale and rental of residential, commercial and industrial properties, says chief executive, Herschel Jawitz.
The Mauritian franchise is the company’s second office outside South Africa – the first one being in Gaborone, Botswana. Jawitz says the Port Louis office will focus on properties for sale through the Real Estate Scheme (RES) and Integrated Resorts Scheme (IRS), which have attracted lots of interest from South Africans and other foreigners, as well as on local property for Mauritians.
