The new R400 million twenty-storey Pepper Club has opened in the Cape Town CBD.
The R400 million luxury Pepper Club hotel residence and spa has officially opened in Cape Town’s city centre.
David Solomon, director of Solomon Brothers Property Holdings and developer of the 20 storey hotel, says the decision by a number of prominent international hotel brands to develop their first or next African properties in Cape Town is an endorsement of the firm’s development decision.
“More than eight million tourists visit the Western Cape each year and the city’s global tourism appeal is increasing,” he says. “A significant number of tourists will visit Cape Town during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, in June and July, and Pepper Club is already 90% booked for the four-week tournament. This is an excellent opportunity to highlight the city and its hospitality industry, and we are confident the event will bring Cape Town to the notice of leisure travellers who may not have considered the region before.”
Solomon says Cape Town is also increasingly being chosen as a business destination because of its beautiful surroundings and top quality facilities.
“The numerous successful events and conferences held in Cape Town each year has highlighted the region as a perfect hub for business travel in Africa,” he says.
Pepper Club consists of 210 units, including the largest presidential suite in Cape Town at over 750 m², with four bedrooms, a sundeck and a private pool. Other facilities include a restaurant, a private cinema, a swimming pool with panoramic views, a gym, a spa, 24-hour concierge service and security.
Pepper Club has a fleet of luxury courtesy vehicles - including a Rolls Royce Phantom - for transporting guests to and from the airport and business meetings, and on sight-seeing trips. The luxury fleet will also be used to shuttle guests to the Pepper Club on the Beach in Camps Bay.
“Pepper Club on the Beach is open to everyone, but guests of the Pepper Club hotel will enjoy preferential seating at the restaurant, VIP entrance at the night spot, guaranteed parking opposite the beach and exclusive use of restroom facilities with showers and lockers,” says Solomon.
