Vanderbilt Construction, a joint venture between Devmark Property Group and Swieg Group, has launched The Oaks at Val de Vie Estate in the Paarl-Franschhoek Valley.
“The Oaks is a portfolio of four floor plans by A3D Architects, designed for the retirement market, eliminating the need to start the design process from scratch, saving time and money,” says Hein Ehlers, a director of Vanderbilt Construction.
“All four designs allow for customisation to ensure that owners’ requirements are met.”
Jan-Hendrik Swiegers, also a director of Vanderbilt Construction, the firm’ completed projects include Fairhaven in Somerset West, Caversham in Rosebank, Johannesburg and Heerenzicht Estate in Durbanville and the company has an agreement with Val de Vie to build the houses in the soon to be launched retirement village on the estate.
Renier Swart, sales director and shareholder at Val de Vie says research among home owners at Val de Vie found there was a need to develop retirement accommodation on the estate.
Security measures at Val de Vie include regular unplanned security stress testing, physical barriers including a 2m high wrought-iron fence, concrete plinths, full electrified fence and anti-dig razor wire, thermal camera perimeter protection, intelligent video analytics and biometric homeowner access control.
Val de Vie The Oaks will have views of Paarl Rock, Simonsberg and the Franschhoek mountains. The gym and lifestyle centre includes tennis and squash courts and a heated indoor pool.
Plots range in size from 675m² to 3 000m² and house sizes start at 320m2. Finishes include gas hobs and electric ovens, heat pump geysers, air conditioners, underfloor heating. Prices start at R6.251 million.
